engine problem

I get a miss or burp, usually at low rpm. Will stall bike at idle. Any thoughts?

Probably carburation, I reckon. What kind of carburation do you have?

Mikuni's, the aft air filter is smushed to fit. The previous owner took the webers off and refit these. The burp has been with the bike since I got It.

I've never worked on Mikunis (I have DelOrtos) but they probably also wear mostly at small throttle openings. Have you read my carb tuning advice in the 750 FAQ in 750 Discussions?

Also, Paul (that's his member name) has posted pics of how the throttle stop screw in DelOrtos makes a wear hole in the side of the slide, which causes big problems.

How are your ignition coils? If they are original, you may want to replace them or have them checked. I had a similar problem with mine and replaced the original coils with Dynas and the problem went away. Ny bike has the Mikunis on it too.

Coils are original as far as I can tell. What are Dynas? Where would I get them, Carbs look ok.

Here is their websight. I believe that you can get them through other aftermarket suppliers too:

I've go a picture of mine mounted up I'm pretty sure I used two single output, green, 3 OHM. If you send an e-mail address I'll send the picture to you. They make a lot of difference especially when starting, chopping the throttle and acceleration.
