I found this on eBay and have two questions: What current or former site member sold his 907 to a newbie rider and; Why is the "buy it now" price so friggin' low??? I, for one, don't like seeing such a low sale price on a 907!!

this is the 2nd time this bike has been posted on e-bay. the first time the high bid was $3,352, (reserve not met). the bike is in slippery Rock, PA. the seller lowered the reserve and re-posted. currently the bidding is close to the prior high bid. the buy-it-now price is $4,400, but I doubt anybody will buy-it-now at that price. the bike has some issues: first of all, it's black. if u like black, this is a great buy, but most 907 fans prefer red. also, as 907s go, this one is a "Plain Jane". If you think it's so under-priced you might want to consider buying it now. i'm sure oldgreynorm would be delighted.

Well... as for newbie riders, my first bike was a brand spanking new 907 (I bought it in '91 after I got my first "real" job). What's the big deal? No, I don't think it's the best choice for a first bike, but it's not a horrible choice either as long as the guy knows what he's buying.

As for the price, $4400 doesn't seem low to me??? I had my 907 for sale for a month or two last summer and I would have been happy to get $4400 for it. (It's not for sale any more though!)

I took it to the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio last year - it was the 907 that was on display in the Ducati exhibit. While I was there people asked me about it and in talking about it I sort of renewed my interest in the bike. Two people involved with the show expressed interest in buying it, but at the same time told me I shouldn't sell it! I had the title with me just in case, but in the end I decided not to part with it.

That said, it's been sitting in my basement ever since, awaiting TLC that probably won't happen this summer either, too many projects!

I recently got my '74 750 GT on the road after a 3+ year rebuild, I'm in the process of getting all the bugs worked out. My 996 is receiving attention at the same time, and to top it off I already started my next rebuild, a '66 Monza Jr. that won't like anything like a Monza Jr when I'm done with it.

So the 907 awaits it's day in the sun...

Cheers and it's not uncommon, nothing seems to attract interest like the Paso's ( and the 907 of course! )

Wow, what a smart-ass reply from a noob. I think the price is low and as a 907 owner I'd like to see the price within a certain range. It's as simple as that.

my apology. i didn't mean to offend and apparently i did. i wasn't trying to be a smart-ass; i was being sincere. i have no idea what a noob is but i take it from the tone of ur post that it's an insult. i guess it boils down to a matter of philosophy about bikes and biking. unlike u, i wish my 2 907s were only worth 10 dollars. if that were true, u, me and almost everbdody could own all the 907s they wanted. for me the goal is to ride what i think is the most beautiful bike ever designed and produced, not to make money by investing in collectable motorcycles. for me, it's about riding, it's about art, it's about esthetics. it's not about money. 907s are worth whatever somebody's willing to pay for them. no more; no less. by the way, the bike in question sold for $3,851. a fair price, don't u think?

I'd certainly like parts to be a bit cheaper and more readily available for what is I agree the best looking bike ever to grace the planet.

It's just a wee bit too expensive, I saw one in MCN for £10,000 that's about $16,000.

Mrs Rogero would go bonkers if I spent that much on a bike as she's driving around in a ten year old Ford! :laugh:

Hmmm, these bikes fetch somewhere between $24,000 and $29,000 USD here so this tells me Mrs. Rogero should let you buy the bike because it's such a great deal! Tell her I said so!
