Mikuni Conversion Tuning
I have finally solved my fuel return problem and road 100 trouble free miles yesterday. It sure rides well with a NOS rear shock and new fork oil/seals/dust seals. In order to get the bike to come off idle without stalling I have the fuel mixture screws set at 4 1/2 turns out. This seems to me to be a little excessive. It runs incredible, especially under full throttle acceleration... The only problem I have noticed is just putting around town I can hear the engine coughing as I believe it is getting loaded up with too much fuel. It does not do this at speeds in excess of 65mph. I am running a dyno jet stage two kit for a 92-98 750ss right now. Should I drop the needle to lean it out a little? Also the idle is screwed up as it idles at 1500rpm when warmed up. I don't suppose any of you guys know a trick to adjusting idle without pulling the tank? Thanks again for the advice on the fuel return issue as I was getting bored with my BMWs!
