Another New Paso Owner

I recently bought a 1988 Paso 750. I'm having a difficult time finding parts for the bike. I need a good source for regular maintainence items. The bike is in good shape and has the carb upgrades and is basically streetable. However I want to replace the timing belts, plugs and give it an oil change. My needs are simple, but ducati dealerships are basically useless. Seeing as I know little about the bike, especially parts and what I can get at a local dealer. I appreciate any help.

Welcome to the forum, its a good place for info most of the guys here know more about the bikes than I!
What part of the world are you in?
Here in South England I have a local Ducati agent who can get service bits belts etc
Body parts can be found on ebay just look after that rear light lens as they are like chickens teeth.

What colour you got?

Oh by the way if the bikes not had a wiring upgrade for the coils and starter , just do a search or ping a email over, sorry cannot remember who came up with it but its great and helps starting, am sure they would not mind me sending it on.

so, welcome in the paso membership!
Actually maintenance is very VERY important for pasos (and also for any other engine! :laugh: )
Were are you from? (you can update your info just kliking in the underlined phrase in your home page).
If there aren't duc dealer available close to you, you can search for alternative good quality belt makers (original is Pirelli). They are to be changed every second year (no time extension allowed!).
Spark plugs have often a short life (expecially with unleaded fuel)
and, of course oil changing and checking is very important.
In the F.A.Q. digest of 750 paso youll find the answer to the largest part of any trouble you can meet

Have to correct You, Nicola, original belts are made by GATES, NOT Pirelli. I know, You Italian guys want, keep that "italia" upp all time, but times are changing.... Gates have been made to Ducati VERY LONG time those belts! And there is 10year limit: When 10 years is gone, then those Gates belts are "free to sold" to also other car belt companies, NOT only to Ducati dealer. I can buy only from Ducati dealer belts to my 2002 ST4S now

Ask from all local car repairing shops, if they have Gates belts and when U find such company, make deal with other Pasoguys,that such company order big patch of belts and "viola, no problem anymore". ....We do so here in Winterwonderland! :laugh:
