Hi Bavarian,
Have completed the Mikuni conversion a few weeks back, and it has transformed the performance of the bike. Crisp acceleration with absolutely no hesitation or stutter.
As your fuel problem only appears when the fuel pump operates my guess is that it is still associated with the fuel hose route/connection. Here is my arrangement;
Hose leaves the petrol tank tap and connects to a “Y” junction, one side goes to the fuel filter, then the fuel pump then another “Y” junction. One side goes directly to the carbs, the other back to the spare connection on the “Y” junction near the petrol tank tap. The fuel pressure regulator was removed, as it was redundant. My carbs are off a 900SS, with a Dynojet Stage 2 kit (to suit a 750SS) and pod type filters, just like yours. Hope this helps.
Regards,
Fraser.
