Re: Rear Swingarm for 907 needed!
It is the lower left of the swingarm. In fast corners and so on, the chain damages the swingarm because of the yielding suspension.
I am very interested in the condition of your swingarms.
Would you all mind to have a look an take pictures?
Maybe the position of the ST3-engines sprocket is higher?

It is well known fact in this country that Volvos are the safest cars in the world, but that doesnt make the people that drive them the safest drivers, in fact, I think they drive them BECAUSE the are crap drivers.Finnpaso wrote:Jaffa, WHAT that "Volvo aware Motorcyclist" means ???? Good drivers dont need the safest car in the world to be safe.

Re: Rear Swingarm for 907 needed!
Jaffa,
The only new car I have ever purchased was a 1981 Volvo 240DL sedan when we lived in Sydney, oddly enough in 1981. By that stage was on my second Ducati, after 6 years of Ducati ownership. So, I understand the apprehension when it comes to Volvo driver's, however there are always exceptions, they are not all ancient, blind, a moving road hazard etc, etc.
One of my favourite all time cars is a Volvo 850R station wagon, what a street sleeper. Ever see the Tom Walkinshaw (TWR) prepared Volvo wagons competing in the Brittish Touring Car Championship in 1994/95, what a sight!!!
Cheers,
Fraser.

Re: Rear Swingarm for 907 needed!
I think you're right...you've changed the design angle and now the chain is aggressively rubbing on your swingarm, if you look at the pic, the top of swingarm is protected by the nylon piece, but there should be heaps of room from the lower chainJoKing wrote:It is the lower left of the swingarm. this pic is too small but you can still see the clearance between chain and swingarm
Cheers Claude.

I am very sorry, Jaffa what have happened to You with some stupid Volvo driver. I really didnt read such news earlier, sorry. BUT i think, such problem shouldnt be aimed to Volvo drivers ONLY as i have seens very stupid BMW, MB, AUDI, JAPAN brand, etc drivers also sometimes here and in my European mc journeys. Its not car brand, but inside stupid car drivers brains. I know very well those stupid car drivers, as it have been very many times "too close" for me when i met such stupid car drivers, but not ONLY VOLVO drivers dop such !!!

@907Pasonut:
What about the situation, when the bike is not on the mainstand? When the suspension is compressed, like when you are going round corners knee on the street?
/edit:
I don`t think a Volvo-discussion helps me with my swingarm-problems. Can we diskuss the Volvo-thing somewhere else, please

Sorry, You are sure. I stop talking about Volvo in this topic.

Btw, there are some 907IE swingarms sometimes for sale in Ebay, so You should look them closer. Cant be so expensive if You really need new one, but good welder who have played with aluminium can fix such quite easily and surely such need some lathe work to open space for bearing. I have one 907 swingarm in garage shelves laying around, but it is reserved to my Paso 750 17" conversion, if need to do such in future, so, sorry, i cant sell it to You.

My swingarm is welded, and i`ll get a NEW one, either.
Actually, i don`t know why i had this heavy wear on the swingarm. Thats what i am trying to evaluate

Re: Rear Swingarm for 907 needed!
Very good
Did You buy that new swingarm from Ducati dealer, or was it used from somewhere? I mean, that is it still for sale in Ducati dealer and what shall be price of it there and if You bought it from another part of world, what shall be VAT, taxes, shipping, etc. costs to EU area, as have to pay such when spere part is coming from outside to EU? I bought some times ago stuff from Australia and i had to pay quite alot taxes, VAT and especially from shipping
Those shipping costs are very high currently

Ducati has these things no more on stock.
But compared to this:

Re: Rear Swingarm for 907 needed!
U are right. If doubble that swingarm price, u can get hole 907IE for wrecking !!! I would never pay so much from swingarm, no matter to what bike it is for.

Btw, do u know already VAT and taxes, etc. from Australia? One tip: Try to make with seller such deal, that it is "crap" spare part with very low money. Its ANOTHER thing, what You pay to sellers account. I dont want to make anykind "criminal" from You, but i have HEARD, that many do such to avoid taxes, VAT, etc.
