Part of the reason of doing these gaskets and seals myself being fresh engine enamel not brought to temp yet , I can rework the paint before she is reassembled, also to learn a little more about what I believe will be a bloody great motorcycle

Looks really nice all black and a splash of silver nuts , bolts / fittings and raised lettering filed off?

No, didn't file of the raised lettering, I like it black and discrete.
Just ordered a new sticker (Australia) and used electro polished stainless steel bolts and (cylinder) nuts, which shine almost like chromed.
The top lids (valve covers) are a cheap alu/zinc alloy and were a bit corroded so I decided to make them mat black so it doesn't stand out.
All steel items are re-galvanized.
Main goal was to get a "like new" engine (I have overhauled the engine; new clutch and clutch mechanism, new gaskets, bearings and seals, complete cylinder heads overhauled) but no frills, just a taut engine.
I'm trying to improve the look of the Paso with the fairing removed (small changes), with improved brackets for coils, fuel pump (vacuum), new (black) Aeroquip oil lines, new polished stainless steel fasteners, improved cabling etc.

Ah Frank , the whole point of fitting a fairing to the Paso was coz it looks like shit without one
yours does look real good tho
