Loks good , higgy :thumbup:

1. did you do the right mods first, w 3 relays from battrery to headlight?
2. Did you get try w a really good quality bulb after that?

And after that,,
mounted the FZ duals and,
they do shine better than enhanced stock setup?


Just looking f a final answer on this issue!

Only installed one H4 so far as I have not had time to do the relays yet,learned the hard way on the 906. :banghead:
Have the relays just no time so far. Yes,dual H4's is plenty of light. I have a couple of HID units around but other than their somewhat less strain on the electrics I'm not sure they are worth the trouble :lol: :lol:

No :,( has not arrived yet. This week sometime. Yeah,very durable paint, 36,000 miles still looks good.Up close it needs some work :lol: :lol: :lol: The Anderson brothers treated her well :thumbup:

the rear edge of the seat looks strange though. Also it looks as high as the grab handle. :huh:

I installed a relay kit on my bike about a year ago. I got a completely assembled, plug it in setup here:

The improvement was dramatic. More than enough light for me on both low and high beam with the stock headlight. But I bought the dual headlight relay kit, planning on putting in a dual headlight later, which I did. The combination was excellent, but I noticed that my charging system was barely keeping up with the headlights, so I disconnected one low beam. Now I run a single low and two highs; works great.

In sum, I think the relay kit offered more of an improvement than the duals, and I probably wouldn't have gone on with the dual beam if I hadn't already bought one. But then again, the dual headlights look great!

I did a HID into the original headlight. Its very bright, certainly a lot more noticable.
Even though this kit has a very good/big shroud over the bulb it still does not focus as it should, so glare - why it looks bright- and poor pattern.
OK for day riding but not much better for night time.
Better for the charging system, I guess, voltmeter shows 14.5.to 14.7 volts.

The ideal would be the dual conversion with two proper HID projector lights COMPLETE.
That would be 70watts draw all the time if both on at night.

Anyway, I have brought a Subaru HID projector to fiddle with.
Many HID are only low beam, the Hella unit is one of the better dual lights.

Thinking HID projector low beam with a LED High beam on each side. It just may not look good, so that would not be good!

Sadly it won't!

Two of the new extreme Phillips globes in a dual would give better light.

My only concern is everyone has scared me about the load, 110w with both beams on.
What are you thoughts about running that all the time?

Also a globes colour temperature of 4300k has the most lumens. A higher colour temp may look brighter, as it will be whiter, but doesn't output as many lumens. So always use as close to 4300k as you can get.

read here at TRS why it won't work. Again it won't work!!!!! :banghead:

I only paid about $10 for the projector I brought, TRS sells kits of ballasts only etc and a wiring pigtail to connect a H4 HID kit to the proper globes. [Thats if you have brought a H$ kit like me].
Most H$ kits have the globe glued into the holder, some melt!

Also the dual H4 HID kits have the high beam bit as the globe moving back and forth, changing the focus point, ALL WRONG!. Th eproper HID projector has a moving shield.

Just go read at TRS and all will be revealed :shock:

As I said the light is very bright, great to warn cars, but poor lighting down the road and this globe has a very big shield covering the lower part of the globe to stop glare.

That kit you show doesn't seem to have one so light goes all over.
A hid projector has an almost flat piece of metal in front of the globe that gives you the cut off. The lens at the front can be replaced, see TRS, and this also makes a huge difference.

I forgot, there are some retrofit rectanglar 'sealed beam' HID kits. These replace the old sealed beams with a HID reflector.
They are not quite the size of the 907 headlight and i could not find out what qualiy they are.
hella make tham and they are on ebay.

I should note that there are projectors and reflector HID lights. The early HID Mercs had reflectors not projectors. This was I think to help with the high /low beam issue.
