maybe we should say that it initially was thought of as one of them cagiva/ducatis but seeing as how other manufacturers have been in and out of bed with ducati , and each other sinse then maybe now is the time to start thinking of them as one of the 1st of the NEW era ducati's. Cant help but notice that the most valuable Ferrari's (classics) are the ones that were made while the factory was doing well in the world racing scene .
Ferrari... Ducati, bit of an analagy there but I think that if ferrari made bikes one of them would have been the paso,to say nothing of the 916 , 1098 and the desosedici, and I am a little surprized that ( through some factory level dealing ) Ducati have not made a bike to be marketed as a ferrari in the same showroom as the cars

Thanks for the offer blazing.
I am still undecided if I buy this beautiful machine or buy a new bike.
After reading heaps of posts it seems like every owner has problems or spends a lot of time repairing their bike.
I am anal with all my bikes and they must be ready to fuel up start straight away and be capable of a blast from Brisbane to the Oxley Highway at the turn of a key and be problem free.
I rekon I will offer the guy $6000-$6500 that way if I have to spend a few thousand to bring it up to my standard then in my eyes its a good buy.
Cheers Rusty

Higgy a 907ie was AUD$15000 in August 91.
Same era was 9300USD here I am told. That being the case 8Kaud seems to be about right then. I knew a Laverda Jota went for 7500 here recently to a chap from down under. The bike was in fairly good condition but had some non Jota bits here and there. To me 7500 seemed a bit much for a bike that was not 100% original. Course I lost out to one of your Aussie brothers who saw it as cheap even with the cost of shipping. Local perspective is always the best advice in these sort of international enquiries into pricing

Not a "problem" just an afternoon with two of our favorite things, Beer and Paso's I would not hesitate to take either Paso anywhere at any time. In 40 plus years of being involved with a duck or two, only been stranded twice, Leaving out the times that involved an Ambulance   once on a honda and once on a ducati. The Honda ate its rocker arms for lunch and the Ducati had a......drum roll please....an electrical issue
go figure a duck with an electrical issue BTW I have as yet never crashed a Ducati, Crashes always involved a Honda. At one point My daughter offered to get me a T-shirt with a picture of me riding a cow and a caption that said " I have not crashed my cow.....Yet!" Ah the good? ol'days.

Hope you bidding goes well  Good Luck to you

Mate, if this is really what you are after in a bike, buy a "Rice Burner", and the character that comes with it (read none). Any bike that you buy will require regular maintenance otherwise you will be in the shit at some stage. 907's are getting on, yes, they do require a keen eye to keep them running perfectly, yes, but compared to ANY jap bike......SORRY not possible to compare to any Jap bike. Good luck with what ever you decide.

Oh, for info. I have been talking to a lot of people about these bikes here in Oz recently and the general opinion is....DONT SELL. Keep the thing in your garage, even if you dont ride it. They are works of art (my words) and WILL definately appreciate in value.

Try that with your rice burner.

I guess it could seem that we are always fixing our paso's, but them we are hardly likley to post everytime things went well .The paso is like any other bike in that you get out what you put in . Regular maintainance and a bit of experiance ,or a website full of helpful bods, and common sense is all you need to enjoy . I have owned my paso for 5 years now , and while I havent ridden it for a year now , it has never left me stranded , and regularly did the 1600k trip to Wanaka and back ( visit parents ). Just buy the bike , get it properly sorted ( if it aint already )do proper servicing , which doesnt have to be expensive especially if you are mechanically minded , and you will enjoy

36 907 in what, 4-5 million citizens? Quite rare, I`d say....

Any 18-20 years old bike w just basic maintenance (or less.... ),
needs quite a bit of TLC. Regardless brand.

hmm I read that there was only 40 907 in Australia, 20mill population, maybe that is just in one state :dunno:

I can't see why a 907 or any other bike should be that un reliable as long as you have done proper servicing and replacement of 20 year old parts as required. Its no different to any other machine.

You basically stop for either fuel or ignition problems, so do the elec up grade, my bike now starts like a rocket, clean your fuel flters and run an injector cleaner on a regular basis and if youdon't ride much put some fuel stabiliser in the tank, stops degradation of the petrol and stops the tank rusting.

Any other failures would be the same for any bike.

I second Jaffa, the bike is so beautiful, I just love looking at it, so riding is just a bonus!!
