907IE Ignitors - Ignition module BKL-3B
907IE Ignitors - Ignition module BKL-3B
does anyone have a supply / equivalent of these that is readily available.
http://www.endless-horizons.net/efi/module.htm
None of the Europen cars listed are sold here in Australia. I'd like to make sure I can get ignitors if I need them.
I think some of the Bosch ones can be used but it would be necessary to re-wire the plug.
cheap would be nice...too...

If you take the list of alternative part numbers from that web page and take them to any self respecting car parts shop, they should be able to help you out.
On the links page of the efi website are also links to the websites of several manufacturers and resellers, for sure one of them will be willing to ship to Australia?

I think, NO! Its quite compicated elecronical part(onekind amplifier), so with multimeter it CAN be destroyed, Yes, with 9V battery feed from Ohm scale... I wouldnt do that. It function, or dont function. Sometimes those parts have sensitive components, like MOSFETs, etc, so again i would say "no" to multimeter. Sometimes they use just FETs in amplifiers, so You are warned now....Tamburinifan wrote: I guess there is a simple multimeter/Ohmtest f this?

Coils You can test by multimeter, cause its only "wounded wire" in ohm scale, but modules are difficult to test. I can see only one 2 ways:Tamburinifan wrote:OK, OK, Antti, so how do I test it?
Newer ign coils you test w resistans.
1. Change them via versa and see, if problem goes to another sylinder.
2. Buy such module "for spare part" and try it to failed sylinder, not so expensive. I have somewhere in my notes, what it coasted to me, but not so much. I wondered, how "cheap" it was, when i bought it. I can also look manuafacturer and code number, but remembering, that it fits also to some Italian car. I havent tested or used that my module, cause no need yet and i bought it for spare part for long distance European journeys(small piece to keep with tools).

Is that really true, you can`t measure the coils?I think, NO! Its quite compicated elecronical part(onekind amplifier), so with multimeter it CAN be destroyed, Yes, with 9V battery feed from Ohm scale... I wouldnt do that. It function, or dont function.
Haynes manual f 91-96 6-900 says (I know, another coil):
Measure primary wiring, should be 3,-5,0 Ohm if good.
Secondary wiring, 10,6-16,2 if good.
I got 0,6-0,7 Ohm primary on both on my 907.
Question still remains: Could you or could you not measure the ignition coils on a 907?
If so, how?

I havent measured. But U can easily check those coils from spark also. Is there spark in both plugs??? If not, then change coils and check again both sparks. If fault also change to anther plug, then surely coil is destroyed. BUT remember to "EARTH" both spark plug threads to ground with some good wire, that energy from coils can go to earth, that just it DONT destroy your coils, or ECU. I have made such spacers/nuts/wires, what i hook to spark plugs every time, when i want to check spark and same also every time after changing oil to turn engine some 30-45 seconds(in 10 second parts!) before start it really, that there is enough oil already waiting in sylinder heads for engine running, that it gets as fast as possible oil to critical places(rockers and cams)....
..Ok, I know, that only virgin(like me) do such
