rear axle nut torque specs?

Just wondering what to torque my rear axle to after a new tire change? I over tightened it and the tire wouldn't move by hand in neutral, then I loosened it and the nut came off while riding but i stopped and found it. And just to be clear, the spacer goes on the left side by the sprocket?

If the wheel didn`t turn when tightened my guess would be that the spacer was mounted the wrong way around.
If I remember well the spacer is conical and the larger side should show towards the swingarm. If mounted the wrong way around it would touch the inner and outer side of the sprocket carrier bearing. With the wheel being forced to spin the spacer would grind itself into the swingarm.
I`ve seen such swingarms. In worst case the axles losens, the wheel moves and the sprocket works itself into the swingarm also. (My mechanic currently has such a case on the bench).
However, yes the spacers comes on the left side (check the parts catalogue TAV.22.
According to the workshop manual (page X5) the torque of the rear wheel nut is 68,7-73,6NM (7-7,5kgm or 50,6-54,2 ft.lbs)

The spacer is on the left but in your case on the wrong way around - I can confirm this I had exact same problem with my Monster after a tire fitter changed my rear tire.

The spacer will eat into the wheel bearing housing and then the sprocket nuts will eat into the swing arm, the handling will also feel a bit a bit strange as the wheel will run out of line - take it easy on left handers !!

My problem was found out 150 miles away from home so I ran the gauntlet to get home with several breaks in the journey to re tighten the wheel. (there was no other option but to ride to get home).

Get a new spacer, check the bearing and if all's well it is a simple fix.

thanks guys, I have switched the spacer around and tightened it down and it spins freely. I only rode it a half mile, so there was no damage. Does anyone know the page where, the online shop manual is at?

rear nut torque 68 - 73 Nm (snug, rather than tight for a nut this size)...
