So Cal Mechanic?

Can anybody recommend a good mechanic who knows Paso's in the So Cal area? I am aware of Pro Italia & European Cycle and would rather not deal with people who feel that a Paso is not worth their time or knowledge. I am hoping to find someone who can help me get the bike really dialed in after I finish a few changes.

So, having problems, or just looking for a tune-up? Are you mechanically inclined? Getting your hands dirty can be a lot more beneficial, especially considering the Paso. I've found my local dealer's favorite line to be "you know, they make new motorcycles everyday" ... meaning, 'don't bring me your Paso unless you're willing to let the tires get dry rot in my backroom, before I get around to working on it - and only because I need the room.' Actually, closer to the truth, it's probably more like don't bring me repair work, just buy a new motorcycle.

Needless to say, I don't bring any of my bikes to that dealer anymore.

Anyway ... if there's something wrong, maybe we can guide you through it if you're into that.

Thanks for your reply Jake. I feel that the PASO is one of the most significant motorcycles ever developed. It's just that the rest of the motorcycling community has not yet realized the historical significance of the PASO. As a result I am trying not only to restore mine to it's utmost glory but I would like to make a few updates to increase reliability along the way. When the local mechanics only deal with 999's and other new bikes they tend to be a little arrogant in their support of the "histroical" products. I prefer to do the work myself because I know it will be done right. We all know how hard some parts are to come by for the PASO so rather than replacing a part if there is a way to upgrade I would rather do that. It is for this reason that I am looking for a mechanic that also shares the love for the uniqueness of the PASO 750 and really knows how to dig into them.

i dont know of any other places in so cal other than the two dealers mentioned.

you have nice taste in bikes... i have a K1100RS in the garage too.
