Stock rear shock for sale (in US)?

Post by Kurt »

Does anyone have a Marzocchi in working order they'd like to part with? At a reasonable price?

Thanks,
- Kurt

There is an overhauling kit with all the parts needed to repair it.
Often, a German seller sells it on eBay. I also bought one.

No matter, that overhauling kit has got only some gasket, grommet and so on.
So, if you need to overhaul it, you can go to a good shock expert and he will be able to repair without any problem.

I have just been replied by that German seller I told (ceepeedee): he has no more overhauling kit.
I don't know if it was still available at the Ducati dealers.

Hi Kurt,

I have an original Marzocchi shock with a little internal overhaul work ahead and a repair kit containing all the seals and grommets.
If you're interestet, let me know. but be aware this shock is not in working order, although the externals are very good.
I switched to Proflex shock, which behaves like a flying carpet. But with good compression and rebound dampening.

Thanks, Ducbertus -- I was hoping (unrealistic, I know) to get my hands on a working shock and just stick it in while I research and ponder upgrades and related costs. Now I'm thinking that I will take the present shock off for a closer look and cleaning and see if I can get everything to move, at least.

I may visit one of our local dealers that has carried Duc for a long time, they may have something in a heap of used parts somewhere.

BTW, I have traveled in the NL many times, and miss visiting there.

Best,

Kurt

The eBay item is the correct overhaul kit:

I just, one week ago, bought the same from my Duc dealer, they ordered it from Italy.

Very good -- the parts are available for sure. My dealer doesn't have them, but a suspension shop near here Computrak Boston can rebuild, and BCM Ducati, and some others I'm sure. The now that the weather is good, I gotta do some riding, but will extract the shock in the near future. Maybe I'll just go ahead and get the kit from eBay Europe.

Thanks again,
- Kurt

Hi Kurt,

the 907 Marzochhi shock is can be completely disassembled, so completely servicible. (go to a suspension specialist, this better as the average Duc-dealer
If you fail to get an overhaul kit on Ebay.de you can buy mine.

I see you from Mass. I spend last year 3 weeks on the boat of a friend in Fall River at the Borden Light Marina.
Our company is also based in Wilmington near Boston.
We planned to come back in time and bring the Ducati's from my and my son with us to see the USA on the wheels.

Hi Ducbertus,

Please let me know if/when you get back to Boston. I live in Arlington, which is right next to Cambridge, which is right across the river from Boston, and not too far from Wilmington.

I'll send you a PM about the rebuild kit.

Thanks again,
- Kurt

Thanks Antti,
but, really, I'm not so sure I'm understanding the people.
Here's his answer to my question (I asked also for some exhaust):

no exhaust and no shock parts, sorry

Hi Francesco,

just checked E-Bay. Ad is still there. So, I guess the shock overhaul is still available.
It's the same kit I bought last year from this guy without any problem.
