That happened to me a few years ago, if its the blind hole thats stripped then if I remember correctly it is possible to tap a thread into unused alloy at the bottom of the hole and use a longer bolt. The best fix however would be to put a thread insert in (look up"Helicoil" http://www.helicoil.in/ )this will be better than new(I was told that they were developed to stop the wings falling of Spitfires !!) and is the only real way to fix the top bolt thread if its that one thats gone, they are available as kits for DIY installation or any engineering firm can do it for you.

I added 3 helicoil in my swing arm last month and when i was at it, I inserted in front fork for the callipers. They where getting to a state, that I was nervous when tightening them. Alloy and steel bolt’s?? there should be a law stating, that you had to insert an helicoil in to a alloy thread :)
