Dumb Question

Post by 2vtwin »

Purchsing a 907ie, noticed it does not have the Center Stand, only the damn spring loaded side(jiffy) stand. Was the center stand an option? Thanks - Gene

NOT option, as EVERY 907IE had such from factory. Some are for sale sometimes in Ebay and if You know good welder, he can also do such to You. :smoke:

You can also easily modifie side stand such way, that it is not "automatic" anymore. Put anotherkind screw(shorter) to it and its ok then. That curved plate (holds spring) is "passing" that holder screw then. :smoke: Sorry, i dont know, what "jiffy" means....

Most likely it was removed, either for a non standard exhaust installation or some Psuedo racer thinkin he needed more ground clearance

I confess to scars on both knees, but no marks on my center stand, if the stand is draggin the wheels will soon be off the ground and that can never end well :choo: :banghead:

Somebody removed the center stand. To fix the side stand springing up . . . . remove the hex headed screw that holds the side stand. Notice that the hex opening is unusually deep. File or grind enough of the screw head off so that the curved plate that pivots and the springs connect to just clears the head of the screw when you put the side stand down, fixed. Don't worry, there will still be enough depth in the hex opening to be able to tighten or loosen the screw in the future.
