Whoo hoop am excited

Post by Graemer57 »

Am picking up the Paso tomorrow afternoon in Wales, then have a nice 285 mile ride home to Kent to get used to her. Must admit to feeling excited and not a little apprehensive, given that I bought the bike sight unseen from eBay. Still...is going to be an adventure...and isn't that what life should be about!! :D

I wonder when the last full service including belts was done.

Good luck with the ride back - take it easy and get used to the slightly quirky handling again and you'll be fine just don't trail any front brake into corners but to be fair the engine brasking is so great (even comapred to an R series Boxer) that the first few corners you enter you'll find you are going way to slow anyway also if it rains keep in mind the aslightly delayed reaction that the front brakes (and rear) have. Basically a couple of revolutions of the front wheel to clear the brake track on the discs and then they bight hard!

I guess Rhino has hooked you up with the last guy to work on the bike so may be worth a call if you haven't already to him just to see if there's anything to keep in mind.

But have a good ride back I'm sure you'll love it as they certainly are a different and adictive riding experience !

no I`m just saying when I bought my Paso I had no clue that thing even had belts until the bike was serviced the first time  So I rode around with no idea how old they were. Nothing happened but it could have. That´s why I always repeat myself :) (is this a sign of getting old ?)
...just don't trail any front brake into corners ... also if it rains...
take it easy specially if the tires are still the original (old) Michelin.

Contacting the past owner or mechanic is definetely a good idea
(when I did that I found out it had 2 past owners and way more milage than documented when bought as the instrument cluster had been changed from mph to kmh  - it is a California import that came with fresh papers)

From memory the guy that worked on Rhino's 907 was also working on this 750 at the time so Rhino has at least seen it in the flesh.
From the adverts at least I think it looked the best of the bikes currently available

One thing I noticed when 1st riding me paso ( after only ever riding jappers ) is that it seemed noisey, like tire noise and noise resonating up thru the fairing , all turned out to be normal..... enjoy
