hi cant seem to find the coil ugrade wireing diagram. if someone could send me it or a ink to it would be apprecated

does it matter what ignition system you have (keosan or digiplex) to do the upgrade or does it work for both?

you are just changing the route of the voltage supply to the coils so yes it will work regardless of you controller or type of coils

thanks guys well i am half done did the main power relay part of the upgrade did it a little diffrently found a relay that came with a connector and just changed the wire to the correct guage & color avoiding sodering and spliceing wires. only thing i cant attach the ground to the signal flasher mount tab (if i do it. no ground is present thus the relay does not turn on) i used a test light and could not make it light up anywhere
on the electrics mount plate.
hook it to the battery direct and relay works. kinda strange but i swear not one of these bikes ar wired the same.
as for the coil upgrade will be doing that later today already think it will be interesting as none of the colors listed on the drawing are the same as my bike.
damm digiplex set up lolol :evil: :evil:

i used a test light and could not make it light up anywhere on the electrics mount plate.
It`s maybe because the regulator/rectifier is hanging on the side and is not placed on the electronics board like on the Pasos w/ Kokusan ignition. That`s the only part on that board that needs a ground connection if I remember well.

bingo that makes a lot of sence yes my reg is on the side and igntion has direct battery ground

On my 906 I ran a ground wire from the top regulator mount directly to the battery since the regulator mounts to the frame through rubber insulator mounts.
Gives me an extra ground easy to get to when mounting some of my test equipment. Helps keep the battery cleaner without a zillion wires to sort out.

well finished the coil part of the upgrade now. seems to start better.

as mentioned earlier about wire color of wires not being the same. went to trouble shoot poor running yesturday and found the battery completly dead.
i found even with the new main relay & new coil relay unhooked as well as all 4 coil wires unhooked & key off there was power. at one of the three wires in the connector near the left hand coil leading to the digiplex box :banghead:

I wonder if you could post some pictures. There`re very few of 750s with Digiplex ignition.
About the wire colours, are you referring to the P750 wiring diagram (w/ Kokusan ignition) or the one of the 906 ? The wiring of the 906 is different as it has more sensors etc but the Digiplex wiring should be the same as on your bike.

my brother & i spent some time with a test light & a meter (he is a 30 year licenced mechanic)after tracking power feeds throught the harness all the way back to the fuse box the hot to the coils on my bike are from a non switched source and the ground is controlled so the relay wound not turn off that
energized the relay all the time. he recomeneded that i remove the coil section of the upgrade.he did like
the main power relay upgrade.

Your wiring is turning into a nightmare Bob :shock: ,oh well look on the bright side at least you will Know the electrics inside out when you're done and hopefully have a well performing,reliable bike.They really are a pleasure to ride once sorted. :thumbup: J.

thanks jay :banghead: your right has been a pain in the butt but i will know a lot more about the wireing side. and yes i hope it will be reliable. but if i have to go anywhere really important i think i will ride my k1200lt bmw lolol :?

I don`t quite understand this. The coil upgrade wiring doesn`t change things. As soon as you switch the ignition switch on you have 12V at the coils, that`s perfectly normal. The coil builds up the energy by the ground impulse it gets from the ignition module.
With the wiring upgrade it`s the same. The only difference is that the 12V that originally went to the coils go to the relay switching its battery connection to the coils.
If your coils have 12V also when the ignition key is off the wiring is not ok, the relay was not hooked up correctly or there`s something with your ignition switch. If the coils have a constant ground connection there`s something wrong with the wiring or the ignition module.
