Right hand side mirror and blinker needed for red 907ie ''92

Post by Ducolaf »

Well well, the bad thing happened last Friday as I was riding out on an own organised tour in eastern Netherlands and Germany. I dropped the bike on the right hand side and broke the indicator lense and plastic cover. The bike dropped at a near stand still so just some scratches on the fairing to be repaired as well. :,(

The mechanical connection from the mirror unit to the body, mirror itself and lamp reflector are all in good working order and survived. It seems the cover is glued to the part holding the mirror and fitting bracket and the assembly broke at the glued seam.

Now I am looking for just a right hand unit in the red colour however painting would be no problem. Just a cover would do however I am unable to find them, lenses are found seperately. Keeping my eyes open on ebay and other sites as well.

Everything is ok with me however still in a less good mindset working out how to repair, however I realise that riding a vintage 907 is both a pleasure and a risk and a shame to confess I dropped my just bought red joy. :banghead:

Any help or advice would be very much welcomed.

olaf,

give me a call as I have a right hand spare. it's grey, but you stated a spray job is not a major problem.

I am working on some other mirrors at the moment in the red colour, however they are from a Paso 750. Will they fit a 907 ie? Anybody can tell me?

Bertus, thanks for your kind offer, please hang on to them at the moment in case you might need it in the future.

Perhaps we should meet up some time for a Paso meeting in Eastern Netherlands, once I repaired my shameful damage.

Good condition, offside is RHS in UK. Have a good look though.

Damaged pods can be repaired with car body kit and the lens are available from dealers sometimes and on ebay regularly for about £10 each.

Cheers, Keith.

Hi Olaf,

the mirrors of the 750-906 are slightly different of colour as the 097.

new unpainted sets are still available from www.far.it see page 127 of the catalogue. a set costs about € 90 unpainted incl. P&P
these mirrors are not exact the same as the original ones, but you have to be an expert to tell the differences.

otherwise Ducaparts in Twello has large amount of Paso parts in stock. They wreck them on regular basis.

Found some in Enschede on an old stock from Safe Motors including lots and lots of other ducati parts without partnumbers or packing. It's like Aladin's cave walking there.

Twello has nothing as I visited them today. The Paso 750 that would have arrived yesterday, will arrive Thursday. Made a reservation on the mirrors. € 100 at least for a set, colour red however much lighter than the 907.
Think I skipp the ones on Ebay in Italy for 150 Euros'a set incl. free shipping. Asking price is € 100,- per mirror and they have damage on the paint so a paint job is needed as well.
2 Complete sets of mirrors should be enough as I am not intending to drop her again for the rest of my life.

Also recovered both cover plates under the saddle, the cover above the taillight, the front cover and a right cover without the air plate cover. Including a toolset in a cover with Cagiva all over it. Should work for the moment. Also included a German book on Ducati Supersport from the 851 to 996.
Total price still a lot.

Still have the black unused original exhausts lying there. Should I include or not? To replace the Bos silencers? I think the 1992 model has the alu shiny covered silencers ex works. . . .

Yes the MY 92 had the alu covered silencers.
The black ones were on MY 90/91.
I hope you will drop the bike no more.
I dropped mine and had to buy a mirror more....
