timing belt tensioner bearing availability ?

Post by Stingray230SX »

i will be doing my 907's belts in the next month or so, hopefully before it gets real warm,
finding the belts seems easy[anyone have a preference for bucci or the ca-cycleworks? or should i persue the gates Gates powergrip 5297-070x18mm ?, and i havent checked the tensioner bearings yet[bike stored off site from the house this year] hoping for a nice warm weekend to get it over here and start getting it ready for the belt change/oil change etc.

anyway, back to the tensioner bearings, i thought i would replace them this time, as i didnt when i first purchased it and changed the belts, so does anyone know where i can get them? havent really searched yet, saw a set of old used ones on ebay, but i hope to find some newones.

thanks

Hi Doug.

I just purchased a set of SKF bearings for the 907. I found the SKF number on the Stein-Dense Web site. It was SKF 6201-2RSH. According to the crowd I got them off the 2RSH stands for 2 Rubber Seal, High speed. You need 4 to replace them all.

The idler bearings are a bit harder to come by, but they were available from the Duc Shop I rang up. They aren't cheap though!

Cheers.

thanks, those tensioner bearings [skf #'s] are available at allied electronics only 5.xx a piece.

i cant seem to find my parts book at the moment, does anyone have the p/n for the idler[wide roller] i found a ducati site to see if they have this p/n, but cant seem to find the number for the idler.[not a single ducati shop in my state [WV] so i am hoping to find them online.

Hi Doug.

Part No I have for the idler is 037029350. This may have been superseded?

Cheers.

that number is still correct. Unluckily it seems like you can`t get those parts anywhere else than from Ducati and in the US they can cost from $80 to over 100 ea.
In case you`re not in a hurry you can get them from Stein Dinse in Germany. According to their website they still have a few in stock
