Where can I get a full rebuild kit for my M1BB forks?

The manual says 40mm on the M1BB & doesnt have the Bushes

check what`s written on your oil seals (I guess it`s 40x52x7,5/10) or measure the dimensions.

One of these could fit:

Ariete ARI.033 - 40x52x8/9,5mm (Husqvarna WR125/240, Kawasaki KZ1000, Z1000ST etc) ebay
Ariete ARI.063 - 40x52x8/10.5mm (Aprilia RX/RS AF Replica 125, Kawasaki 1000GPZ 86/87, Yamaha Vmax 85-92 etc)
Ariete ARI.023 - 40x52x10/10,5mm - probably too high (Cagiva 125, early Duc Monster 600/750/900, 91-97 900SS etc)
You`ll find these sizes also from other brands. Don`t absolutely rely on the info on which bikes these fork seals are used but it might give you a direction in which to look.

The dust seals were the same as on the Gilera Saturno 500 I heard but this info won`t help.
My quick investigation on the interweb (I don`t have a 900SS, hence you could have googled all this info yourself ) showed me that #34910051A is used on the Ducati 600 SS `95/97, Ducati 750 Sport, Ducati 900 SS `90 and Ducati Monster 600 `98 Dark. It shouldn`t be so hard to track them down or just check with your nearest Duc dealer.

No idea about the bushes.

After what I read on other forums I personally wouldn`t buy Pyramid oils seals but as dust seals they`re probably ok.
I don`t think you can find a complete fork rebuilding set. That bike/fork is too rare.

Let us know the outcome of your rebuild. There have been a few 900SS owners joining lately and I`m sure they are all interested.

While I am at it is there anybody on the North Shore Auckland (heard there was a 2v Ducati guy up this way who has rebuilt a few bikes)

These are the correct size and readily available, I did try a set of 40x52x9.5 in mine originally as was in a hurry and couldn't wait for the right size to come in, but they blew so to speak after one trackday, and haven't had a problem with the one's in the link.

actually those are not the correct size but often sold as such.

Peter, I`m in doubt that a 0,5mm height difference changes it all
The original one is 7,5mm. Does the 10mm heigh one fit without any problems ? For the Paso many shops also sell seals that are slightly higher than the original ones as replacement. If one then tries to fit them it`s really hard to get the stop ring into its groove which is why I`m asking.

That is an interesting observation.

The 10's or 10.5's are what I pulled out of mine the first time they went (maybe it was a Tuesday bike, hey Angelo lets throw these in just to confuse them later Muwahahahaha ) and given it's age and being in storage for years, and what I was doing to the poor old dear wasn't at all surprised when the originals started leaking (wish I had taken a photo of the sizing molded on them)

Keeping in mind I have no reason to doubt they were the factory fitted seals (1990) and the bike had 5200 Km on it when it was bought, when I fitted the 2nd set of new seals (10.5) they were a nice snug fit under the retaining ring, and had no issues fitting them whatsoever, have changed out a lot forks seals on various bikes (42 bikes in 38 years of riding/racing) and these style of forks have nothing to them design wise to be overly concerned with, seemed very straight forward to me, so maybe a bit more practiced at it?.

I believe the gap with the 9.5's allowed some form of movement under braking at the track days, but you never know.

Both seals were leaking at the end of that day, so that's my one and only theory, they were seated nicely, there was was no stiction, and the forks were working nicely all around the track, otherwise no idea why two brand seals would start leaking after one day of hard use, other than they where generics bought in a hurry for a ride day, there is absolutely no pitting on the Stanchions, they are like new and even so still went other them with 0000 steel wool to make sure of no dags, bumps, lumps and so on when I had them apart.

Actually Gerhard going to qualify this further, just had a look at the parts manual out of interest to see if the Factory sizing is listed, which as you would know isn't, that I can find.

What the parts drawing is showing, mine simply doesn't have, in particular the spacer under the seal, which has now confused the b'Jesus out of me, and would explain how people would have trouble fitting a deeper seal and getting the retaining ring in.

Mine from the leg upwards is seal, retaining clip, boot/cover, assuming there is a wiper ring of some description in the cover.

That was how it was when 1st dismantled, I never bothered with the manual, as I wrote before, to me these style of forks are no biggy and just put them back together the way I took the apart.

You've gotta love these little idiosyncrasies with owing a Ducati, don't you think

true, you never know what they did in the factory. I could add even more to the confusion. The oil seals for the 750S were #0361.37.275 which has changed to #8000.37977 and now to #930.4.019.1A it seems. The ones for the '90 90SS are #930.4.008.1A.
The funny part is they may all be the same. Maybe they switched supplier or reduced the number of different parts they have to stock to one seal size for all models. Noone will ever know
