bar grips... why different diameters?

Hello all...

I realise that one of the grips houses the throttle mechanism, but i was surprised at the difference in the bar diameters...

has anyone got any suggestions as to how to get a satisfactory diameter increase so that the 851 style grips will fit? or where can i buy some 750 grips?

My bike came with Malossi grips - larger than normal, spongy, and very comfortable. Maybe you can check them out on the web.
