I would say your Paso is suffering a familiar dilemma ......voltage drop, usually due to poor connections. The pump ( and everything else ) should get battery voltage , best get it sorted before it leaves you stranded. There are heaps of posts re this issue and some good threads on the cure available in the F A Q's. Best learn how to do a volt drop test with a multi meter ......not technically hard and will make the job much easier . As for the pump , a vacuum operated pump off a monster is your best bet , also covered in the F A Q's .Good luckMadfiber wrote:I noticed that my bike (1988 750 paso) has 8.5 volts going to the pump and not 12 volts. Will that work ok with this pump your suggesting? I need a new pump myself asap.
Ah ok thanks! I alwais have thinked that the "problem" was the kind of pump!!paso750 wrote:mark999 if the bike is parked for such a long time that the fuel in the carbs' float chamber is evaporated you will experience the same with an electric fuel pump. Install your current pump in a lower position (lower than the tank's petcock).
