Buying a 907 I.E.

discussions specific to the 907IE

The pursuit of this 907 has ended. The bike is at a dealer and they rejected my offer. As of yesterday, they said they were firm on their asking price of $1,999 USD. I'm sort of relieved that I didn't get it because of all the opened ended questions regarding existing problems with the vehicle.

In the event anyone else on the forum wants to pursue this machine, it's located at:

Beaudry Motorsports in Post Falls, Idaho
1-800-735-2407

http://www.beaudrymotorsports.com/

Post Falls is about 20 miles from Spokane.

Thanks to those of you who provided comments and advice on my questions. If you are out of the area and decide to go after this bike please let me know if I can help you in any way. Thanks again!

mine sat for 6+ years and i got it for 2000.00 and it fired up once i fixed the rusty tank/fuel pump problem.I doubt you would have trouble with the computer, unless its been allowed to sit outside and everything exposed to the weather. The rest of the wiring should be straightforward as on any bike(clean and verify connections etc)

Gowanloch in AU has been a fantastic source of parts for my '92 907. In addition to all the other things mentioned in the various replies I'd also add problems with pitted fork tubes causing your fork seals to tear and leak.

Should you end up buying this bike you'll no doubt have to go through it from stem to stern anyway, I just wanted to call this to your attention.

Either way, good luck with your decision, you'll find this site inhabited by lots of good people with experience and knowledge to share.

Randy
