Fuel pump installation

Post by wolfgangh »

I am installínf my fuelpump after repair. Can you please advise how far down the pump needs to sit in the rubber/plastik mount? I have approx. 1,5" visible above the rubber mount, but I can now barely fit the inline filter between pump and hose, so I guess the pumpmay need to sit further down. Any picture or advise would be great!

best regards

I installed my pump down as far as I could. It picks up fuel from the bottom. 1.5 " above the bottom could relate to 25 miles or so of driving. Instead of 5 + gallons of fuel, you would only have maybe 4.5 gallons of usable fuel.

If you're installing a factory pump, it should have ribs that fit into the rubber sleeve. As long as it is correctly seated in the sleeve, the plastic ear clips should click into the mounting flange and seat it correctly. The plastic screen assembly actually touches the bottom of the tank when properly installed in mine.
