Re: Wrecked 750?!
I actually have a spare red tank I'd be willing to sell. Once, I had daydreams of assembling a whole second set of skins for a custom paint job, tank included, but haven't bothered chasing that down to completion. So, that said, I have a red tank, that's been collecting dust & taking up space. I...

Re: Replace your old brake lines!
I like the black treatment given to the brake rotors too. Good idea - looks sharp!

Re: Paso wheel restoration
WOW. Those look amazing . Thanks so much for the write up & pictures ... it's inspiring, that's for sure. The results of the restoration are fantastic! I need to have a bead dent corrected on my rear tire as well - it's not bad enough to cause it to lose air, but I can't imagine it's good either...

Re: SPAZZOLE MOTORINO AVVIAMENTO
Sorry for the English; ...

Re: lots of money ? no brains ? ........step right this way
Wow ... were they really $15k new? Assuming that's NZD, that's still $10k USD by today's values, anyway. And for late 80's, that seems like a lot!
Re: Batteries
I usually use a Deltran Battery Tender for my batteries, so with this new battery, I also purchased a fused quick-disconnect plug and plug+play voltage reader. I can leave the plug hooked to the battery and zip-tied to the frame, so I can charge the battery on the bike - but I can also plug the volt...
Batteries
I just ordered a new battery for my 750, and I went with an AGM (activated glass mat) battery from MotoBatt . Their particular model is an MBTX14AU . Haven't installed it yet, but I've had one in my '97 Monster for years now. That battery has actually outlived a couple different batteries in the Pas...

Re: Replace your old brake lines!
Wow. That's disgusting. Not surprising, but still. eeeww I replaced all my brake (rears, too) and clutch lines with braided steel long ago, and I've always contended that this is my favorite, easiest, best bang-for-the-buck, go-fast upgrade possible. I consider good brakes a go-fast necessity; you s...

Re: Hello all from the great state of TEXAS
(Belatedly) Welcome! Nice looking Paso re: pump/no pump - I replaced my Weber with a pair of Mikunis on my '88, and I ditched the electric pump in favor of the gravity/vacuum pump, similar to what the Monster/SS lines did in the carby years. Works great all across the range. Check out Bevel Heaven f...

Disconnecting the drain, I mean, clock
I took a couple passes through the search, but either turned up a million hits or not what I was looking for - seeing as "clock" is interchangeable with speedo/tach references. I've decided I don't need the timepiece on my dash; I don't mind leaving it on there once it goes dark, but I don...

Re: Two steps forward, one step back, lather, rinse, repeat
To be honest, Ducati did use helicoils themselves (engine twice). Possibly they overtorqued them during service (20 nm is not that much for an m10 bolt, also an alu swingarm were the exception in 1988). Well, that makes me feel better, I guess. I was kind of surprised that either the previous owner...

Re: Two steps forward, one step back, lather, rinse, repeat
Good to know about the 906 swingarm; I see them come through on ebay relatively often. Hopefully I don' thave to go that route, but at least it's an option. It's also mildly reassuring that this is a common ailment. I'm still kind of surprised though; I bought the bike with 4k on it (15-16 years ago...

Two steps forward, one step back, lather, rinse, repeat
In the never-ending quest of returning my Paso to road duty, I've made some advances, only to find the the next stumbling block. My latest tribulations: The original problem this year, was the clutch slave/cover. After getting my original cover sleeved with a steel sleeve (to fix the piston bore, wh...

Re: 906 clutch piston
I was able to reconstitute the "over-engineered" piston (new meaning to the acronym "OE"?) that came with my new-to-me cover. I found several different places that carry the G 14x20x3 oil seal, in the US and EU. I needed a couple new ball bearings but still had a 608-ZZ bearing t...
