Parts Interchange

Post by 90_907ie »

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a side stand for my 907ie. The Dealer is telling me that it has a different part number than the side stand for a 906, 851, and 888. There is a side stand from a 1990 750 paso on E-bay right now, but the dealer doesn't even show a 1990 750 paso at all. All he has is 750 Super Sport, and it's a completely different part number. So my question is, are there any models of ducati that have the same length and mounting for the side stand as my 907ie?

Thanks,
David

I'm sure they are the same

Do you know what part number he is quoting ? I can look in both my parts catalogues this weekend

Duc750,
Thanks for the reply, here is the part for the 907 that the dealer found.

55610061a

Like I said though, there was no listing for the 1990 750 paso. So I don't have a comparision part number.

Thanks,

David

The 750's side stand number is 037012500.
I'm not sure the 750's side stand fit also on the 907.
The 907 is higher than the 750 because of the 17" rims.
So, the side stand also could be higher.

...seems to my eys, that they are same and caused by 17" wheels, 907IE stands little "too down" compared to 750 Paso, what is more "upwards".

The numbers are different, but, since you have both the bikes you could tell us the decisive word, above all if you measure them

My 750 sidestand is modified for Conti mufflers, so i dont know, are they same. I can look from microfilm, but they can be same, no matter, if different numbers... many times i function that way with Ducati factory.... :screwy:

I'd buy it.
No matter, the frames are the same, except for the front side (radiator and headlamp subframe) so you can fit it for sure.

Btw, those side stands are made from alumium, so if U know some aluminium welder, he can "reweld" it to suitable, like i did to mine for Conti pipes. It brake easily, if U try to bent it by own tools. ST series have steel side stand.

From what's been said above, does that infer that early monster swinging arms fit 907's. Also is there anything else that fits ?

cheers

Hi Mike

Give Baines Racing a call - I think they may have a swingarm knocking around - whats happened to yours by the way ?
could someone like Spondon repair or " re dress" it?

the chain went, locked round the back wheel and took great chunks out of the swinging arm, after it had smashed a few of the plastics on route.

cheers

I hope you are fine  .
Has the swingarm only dents or is it bent?
If there are only dents you can fill up with the aluminium.
You have also to do a metal casting and then you will take off the excess and will brush it.
It will look as new
