To FIM or not to FIM...
Guys & Gals,
Any advice, suggestions, tips or stories on the following; I have a 1992 907 IE with Staintune slip-ons and a K&N air filter. The bike has 15K miles and is now very well maintained.
1) Should I add the FIM chip?
2) What would be the benefits?
3) What can I realistically expect?
Best rgrds,
Cyber

You can find all the info about the FIM chip in their website.
http://www.fuelinmoto.com.au
There is a specific chip for the 907.
Here there are the results.

FIM is best chip, cause it can be finetuned by FIM software(needs dynoruns with FIM software). There have been also some others, like FBF and also some "usa original 907 chip"(what is worst, if U have open pipes,=need richer mixture).
Btw, is here any "gals" :lick: :lick: :lick:
I am very courious to hear, WHY "NOT go to FIM"
Cyber, do U have P7, or P8 ECU ??? ...And are U sure of it ?

Mine is -92 in the papers but w black Brembos so maybe a -91, right?
Does mine have an early P7 or what? How do I check this?
If I have P7, will I need this Additional Memory Board (see quote from Sigma below) to use the FIM fully?

FIM redesigned the operating system in the Weber ECU's unit to add extra functionality not supplied in the original Weber software. Many of the operating parameters were switched from 'constants' to 'variables' allowing a tuner to adjust them while the engine is running. Early P7's required an Additional Memory Board to permanently change the fuel parameters without actually reprogramming a new chip. Later computers had either EPROM or Flash memory which was unused by Weber; these were used to store extra fuel corrections, RPM telltales and so on. (Note; these additional parameters only work with FIM Chips as the factory Eproms ignore these locations.)

Check that code from from ECU! Whats it???? I am quite sure, that U have P7 and U can use FIM EPROM normally in that P7, BUT IF U want to change mapping inside FIM eprom AND STORE THAT CHANGING to EPROM, then You need AMB. AMB keeps changes(made by FIM software with flat top!!!) inside ECU after You turn ignition key to OFF mode....
Without AMB P7 ECU cant remember changes!

FIM Chips
I put in the Ferracci stage 1 chip when I put on my Cobra F1 pipes on my 1991 Paso 907ie and there was a noticeable improvement in performance. Has been running great for two year.
You can get the chips here: http://www.ferracci.com/store/cart.php? ... etail&p=98
