Is the regulator dying?

Post by persempre907 »

Today my battery bulb seems go crazy: sometimes it stayed on until 3000 RPM, sometimes until 2000 RPM, sometimes it stayed off when the engine idles.
Is the regulator dying  ?

Try checking the main 30amp fuse on + battery terminal, if you have one. Mine is a 906, mine started to overheat, replaced it red light stayed off... :lick:

Is the regulator dying
Measure over battery + & - w voltmeter :
At idle should be about 12,5 V, over 3000 RPM 13,5-14,5 V.
Over 15 V 3-4000 RPM, faulty regulator.
