the 907ie standard is a Weber-marelli P7 ECU
they are supposed to be bullet-proof; are you sure it's dead?
I'd get it fully checked out before you get another...

there are after-market ones available but pretty expensive.

if you were happy with the standard unit it should be easy to get another P7.

they are a common in cars from 1990 - 1995:
Peugeot
Citroen
Ford Cosworth
and I believe some eastern block cars too..

you will need the Ducati Eprom chip from the old ECU.

check the kill switch?

seems odd it would just stop...

I have heard of the ECU being damaged by a battery cell collapse & failure.
If supply voltage drops below 11 volts things get pretty sick.

if there is no power to the injectors it would strongly indicate the ECU was part of the problem.
before i plugged in a new one I'd want to know the cause of the failure...like if there is some other electrical fault that caused the ECU to fail.

I'd be inclined to have an EFI technician go over the ECU.

When you turn ignition on, do the fuelpump prime for 4-5 seconds?

Hi,

On a trip to the Dutch TT a few years ago my 907 wouldn't start after a tank stop. I figured it out to be one of the relays. I got another type and continued. Figured out later that these had terminals which did not match completely and would drain the battery if not removed when stopped. Did that for a while and then took the time to open the old relays.
Very obvious when first opened was that the plastic had melted around one contact, just a bit from the heat of a poor contact, allowing contactpoints not to touch when the relay switched. I cut a bit of plastic from the sides of the contact, filed the points and it all worked again.

It may be the same thing for you.

Caught up on this today I have an exact same problem with mine however after removing the tank and stripping out the pump and checking all the relays etc I have found that the problem was in the female connector that attaches to the housing under the tank, within the plastic shroud of the connector the wires were corroded. I stripped back to new and replaced the connectors and the pump now seems perfectly happy.

When it first occured if I shook the bike from left to right (leaning into corners fashion) the pump would fire up and then stop - probably as the wire was swinging under the tank.
