I received the new nearside (right) silencer today for my 907ie which means I have a brand spanking new pair to fit and an old pair to play with so my question is has anyone de-cored their standard Paso silencers (mufflers).
Can it be done.
Obviously I know I will need to get it checked regarding the chip and the fuel mixture etc.
Any ideas - have you done it?

de-core means removing or modifying the internals, like probably this guy did:

I opened mine up so they have a 25mm hole straight through.
Have some bad cellphone pics of the operation if you want.
A bit better sound but not the real thing f a Duc.
A good welder could make the operation almost invisible, I`ve just used hitemp rattlecan paint:

Tamburinifan
I sliced my Monster exhaust in half and debaffled it at the same time however I could not remove the internal baffle fully as it was still welded at both ends and I couldn't get to the front weld. It was niceand rorty and still quiet at slow speeds.
I did this. Once the rear cap was off I slipped the outer cover off and cut it at the other end which kept all the Ducati info/regs in situ. As the 907 outer cover is pinned to the internal sleeve I can only cut the baffles out.

My exhausts have the alloy outer cover that I may yet keep on, out of interest is the interenal baffle welded at front on the exhaust and did you cut it at weld seem on the large weld at the rear when you opened it up.I opened mine up so they have a 25mm hole straight through.
