How many Horsepower

Post by montreal69 »

My 907ie stod in a Garage for 10 years. Al the papers are lost. All i have is a copy of the old Document.
My Duc was directly imported from Italy. Did they had a version with 58 kw/78 Horsepower in Italy?
My copy says 58kw/8500rpm. Could that be ?
The manual says 66kw/90 Horsepower.
What is right. I need this information to get new papers from the German Tüv.

the Aust brochure I'm looking at says for the 907 57.5kw @8,500rpm at rear wheel, the other figure of 66kw may be at the flywheel.
thats for the 91 model, should be the same for the 92 model.

maybe JoKing can send you a copy of his papers even if it`s not the same model year.

I have two Dynocharts. I think one came from the forum and one I found in the internet. Both show 73,4-74,5hp at rear wheel. So the 78hp should be fine.
Other (higher) values were probably measured at the clutch or driveshaft. It`s like the P750. It`s often mentioned with 72hp, if you check german magazine tests, they usually stated 64.

looking at G's secong graph...is that the torque figure, it doesn't look right, max torque @ 2500rpm...
this 907 must of been fitted with a diesel engine :dunno:

Its correct.
Mine from before the engine-swaps looks the same. Not that much HP, but it looks equal.

max torque @ 2500rpm...
most diesel engines won't do 2500 and max out on torque at much less than half of that

I'm not talking about large trucks or diesel locomotives...many passenger diesels red line at 4500-5000rpm with max torque at 2000rpm
back to the 907 if you look at the first graph, that looks right, good torque from 4000rpm and max between 5k and 8k rpm, without much mechanical knowledge I would say the first graph resembles my bike, ie: not much grunt down low
actually I just realised that first graph is mph not rpm...

Here you can see some 907s curves.
The green curves show my 907 before the conversion, with 130tkm on the odo.
The red one is the much "younger" 907 with lower mileage.
The Blue one is the same one with slightly optimized engine.
(This bike is for sale, it is the frame # 2000)
/Edit: You see KW. To get HP, you have to multiply the values by 1.36

On this picture you can see my 907 engine, compared to the first run after the conversion. This was with a Multistrada 1000DS-2-Valve-mapping.
Its sad i have no torque-curve and the later, optimized curves saved.
But when i have finished my reassembly, there will be a new run, i think...

Interesting graphs, thanks for sharing...that green line shows a fairly tired motor, not much happening untill 3300rpm.
I might put mine on a dyno now that its running the best thats its ever done
