Like I said Nigel, I am on the fence as to whether HID is any improvement over H4, don't think the proper setup will fit
BTW I just ordered a kit from eastern beaver So I guess I have made a decision after all to stay with H4 :banghead:
The only issue I have had with H4 is in the rain at night with no-one to follow
I'm getting old and glare is an issue

old sucks only when the body fails, unlike our bikes I can't buy a new updated part!
I can't see anymore without glasses, at night you get the starry effect, hard to see.

Good idea about the beaver kit.
I am still thinking about a dual HID projector , but really need to finish my car thats been on stands for about 5 months now or the handbrake [Oz for wife]will soon be really at me!
I just keep fixing things as I pul more off it. No point going back when you are already there.

PS, enjoyed the oil dscussion, somone on Landsahrk today posted about ZDDP being 'essential' for flat tappet designs, this I think also came from Penrite....

most appreciated here, on the northern end of the rock

When I informed my wife I wanted to get the 907ie her response was " how you gonna ride two bikes "
To which I responded, Two? :smoke: What makes you think it will be two?

To be fair she did manage to squeeze out the additional dough at a time when our finances had been shall I say embarrasing

Even though this kit has a very good/big shroud over the bulb it still does not focus as it should, so glare - why it looks bright- and poor pattern.
OK for day riding but not much better for night time.
Better for the charging system, I guess, voltmeter shows 14.5.to 14.7 volts.

The ideal would be the dual conversion with two proper HID projector lights COMPLETE.
That would be 70watts draw all the time if both on at night.

Anyway, I have brought a Subaru HID projector to fiddle with.
Many HID are only low beam, the Hella unit is one of the better dual lights.

Thinking HID projector low beam with a leds High beam on each side. It just may not look good, so that would not be good!

A VISIONXUSA product, 10W LED.

There are quite a few HID forums, also the 'TRS' website sells complete sets and has a huge amount of info.
I like those HID kits but the problem is they consume much power and led lights are best for me.
I've yet to see an aftermarket LED headlight. Those LED bulbs are totally useless in a headlamp application as the headlight is designed to focus light from a point source which these are not.
The only effective LED headlights so far are those fitted to Ducati's Panagale and high end Audi cars.
