Gentlemen, question: I want to use a 906 airfilter box on my Paso 750.
So far so good, but .... the 750 airfilter box has a membrane for the crankcase ventilation and the airfilter box of the 906 which I have doesn't.
Can someone tell me where the crankcase ventilation of the 906 is?
I suppose I need a kind of valve/membrane, so how should I solve this?
Frank

Frank, you're getting lazy Look at the 906 parts catalogue TAV.32.
https://www.stein-dinse.biz/eliste/elis ... 815g&lg=de
The 906 has a valve before the oil catch container (#20). On the engine the Pasos only have a hose adapter.
The 907IE, the Supersports, Monsters, 851, 888, 916, ST etc have a higher engine breather/hose adapter instead. There's a membrane inside.

Re: 906 airfilter box - crankcase ventilation membrane
Hi Gerhard,
I did look at the Stein Dinse 906 parts list but wasn't sure it was with a membrane inside.
Also since the 906 airfilter box has 2 small holes next to the intake, which I couldn't imagine whatfor, assumed some prevision for a membrane.
So if I understood well I could buy one of those fancy aluminium ones you see on ebay (CNC, etc.) and it would fit on my 750 engine?!
Any idea if the outside diameter, where the hose fits, is similar to the 750 version (meaning: the hose fits breather tank aswell as the mentioned later adapters)?
Someone who has mounted one of those?
I find the 906 airfilter box a little beter, build quality wise, so if I find a 906 airfilter box hose adapter I prefer to use the 906 version instead of the 750 one.
By the way: thanks for the picture Gerhard!

Re: 906 airfilter box - crankcase ventilation membrane
If a piece was added into the breather hose which is also named 'valve' I assume it has a membrane. I haven't seen one of thes valves but it would make no sense adding it if inside it was empty.I did look at the Stein Dinse 906 parts list but wasn't sure it was with a membrane inside.
No idea why there are two holes but they are closed with rubber plugs.

Re: 906 airfilter box - crankcase ventilation membrane
Yes those aftermarket ones fit. Since they are higher the hose will need to be shortened about 15-18mm or it will kink. Many aftermarket breathers have no membrane. Btw there are articles about crankcase breathers and the pro and cons of them having a membrane. So if I understood well I could buy one of those fancy aluminium ones you see on ebay (CNC, etc.) and it would fit on my 750 engine?!

Re: 906 airfilter box - crankcase ventilation membrane
Hi,
Got another air filter box from Rudy since I was looking for the hose nipple that I was missing.
To my surprise this 906? air filter box has a membrane in it .... didn't see that on the 906 parts list.
And although provided with the same part number it is actually a little different to the other 906 air filter box.
There is and old sticker with italian on it so I assume it's been used in Europe, but again I didn't know it existed.
Frank

What Rudy sent you is the airbox of a 750 Sport which indeed has the same part number as the one of the 906 but is and looks a bit different.
