Headlight conversion

Post by lammy1 »

@ all

does anyone know a headlight conversion where you can get some decent light out of your Paso?
If I drive in the dark my headlight does not give enough light in comparison with my friends japanese bike.

greetings

Some (like i) have made 2 round headlight modification to Paso. That is better in 750 Paso, cause 907 dont have enough big charching system for keeping ALL time two 55W bulbs on. Injection takes too much current from battery... There are many ways to do such modification, so all depends, whatkind lights You managed to find. Surely some job, but can be done....

HID is a possibility and would LOWER the current load due to the low energy useage. I can't say that it will give more or better light due to the crappy lens and reflector of the paso. There is always the Yamaha headlight.

Hi Frank,

before thinking of swapping headlight check the voltage at your lightbulb. That may already be a problem as so often on Pasos.
Changing to another headlight will probably improve the light but still not be satisfactory if there`s a remaining voltage drop.

@ finnpaso

do you have pictures off your modification?
I am thinking about such a conversion.

@ paso 750

The voltage is 0,5 Volts lower than the batteryvoltage so to my opinion aeverything shuold be alright.

0,5V is not much but according to some graphics I`ve seen 4-5% less voltage can mean up to 10% less brightness. Not sure how good the eye is to distinguish this as this is purely theoretical.
However, I`d try to directly connect the front light to the battery just for testing (!) if you can note any difference with or without full voltage (when engine is running). Then you can still see if it`s necessary to swap the front beam or not.

I have some, but NOT in internet available, only in CD, so if U want some, You have to send Your @address (what have space for fotos!!!) to me to: finnpaso@gmail.com

It can take some days, when i have time at work, but function that way... Anyway those fotos are "fairings on"(how it looks) all ready for street. Also putting realays to low and high beam help. I have done that to my both 750 Paso and 907IE.

yep, found that on a danish page and it said something about photoshop below it.
Then the ST3 has a pointed nose so the light would not fit on the flat Paso nose.

It's a little pity, even if I don't like too much the modification.
But, this would be a good modification.

yo lammy1,

you could try to get a yama.. fz 750 headlight (double bulb) from the 80's versions, but it can give you a problem with the rest of the electrical system (too much power)

i use only one bulb, a philips halogen gold 55w, i'm satisfied with it.

sorry guys, dutch now.

Yikes!

Dual headlight makes the paso look like a bug!

I was thinking about doing the dual headlight conversion but I don't think so now.

The photoshop picture looks interesting though. hmmm.
Thanks
