is there so much difference between the non o en o ring chains? my next chain would be a DID anyway (bad experience with the tsubakiJWilliam wrote:Tsubaki chains are rubbish, stretch stretch stretch. I don't think much of 'O' ring chains either. They are OK for a summer but once the inner lube is dried out they sap a lot of power. I use DID super NZ 520 non 'O' ring. Super strong. Like the bike, how have you modded the headlamp?
What type of chains do you prefer & why?My main criticism of the 'O' ring chain is the greater width of it and that there is a distance between the inner and outer link plate because of the 'O' ring. Meaning that there is more chance of the pin bending, allowing the outer link plate to drift off the pin causing the chain to break. Not only that but when oiling an 'O' ring the lubricant isn't going to get past the 'O' ring - because thats whats its there for - so they are only so good for so long. Race teams love them because the lubricant won't fling out but they change them each meeting. What we want with them is beyond me.
