I live in Vancouver, BC. I see there are a few owners of 907's in the Lower Mainland. Does anybody know of a bike mechanic that is familiar with my bike (1991 907ie)? My mechanic moved away, and none of the dealers around here want to touch it. My main problem is a ridability issue, i.e. surging.
Goodonya,
Bonza

Search this site for the cigarette butt fix that really does work. Did mine, should be some pictures. Also if you balance the throttle bodies it will help. Another thing that will help is changing the chip to one with a richer map.
There are other things that will help. Guys on this site will have more information for you.

welcome Bonza, I dont understand "surging" but I'm sure someone on this forum had surge problems on their injected paso

ps: my 2cw...I replaced the chip recently, fast by ferracci stage one, now she's purring like a kitten

Cheers Claude.

The 907 does'nt manage to do it only by its engine.907pasonut wrote:didnt think the 907 was capable
But, with the help of the clutch...

the genius who thought of the ciggie butt damper should be honored...preferably with $$$ reward...and the occasional virgin sacrifice (you can have her back after)

the wheelie is something the 907 will do if you have a flat spot at idle
I know these things...believe me...
at around 2,000 rpm a good throttle crack will get the front wheel skywards - you just need to be either stupid enough or unaware that the flat spot is happening to continue to hold the throttle open.
Soft-ish rear spring setting helps too..
at one stage I went 4 teeth larger on the rear sprocket - this was actually to change my top gear rev count at 100km/h (but that's another story) - the wheelies were dead easy with 10% more 1st gear power on tap and didn't require any clutch clanging dumps...

Gidday Laddie
All this talk about clutch dumping and stuff does not have anything to do with it. That picture was taken on highway 35 in California and I was doing over 140k and you can see the hill in the background but I have no trouble doing wheelies doing in first gear and keeping it up all the way. The 907 has got loads of torque. Pretty good for a 20 year old bike!
Good on ya
